Southern University, Spivery agree to settlement

Baton Rouge, LA - The Southern University Board of Supervisors’ Athletics Committee met with men’s basketball coach Rob Spivery and his attorney for more than an hour in an executive session Tuesday, after which both sides said they have reached an agreement in principle regarding Spivery’s termination.

Spivery was first informed March 18 of the university’s decision to terminate his employment effective Thursday.

A statement released by the university April 1 said Spivery was entitled to a hearing before the Athletics Committee.
