BIRMINGHAM, Alabama  --  I got the chance to sit down with Southwestern Athletic Conference Commissioner Duer Sharp earlier this week. Check out what he had to say about moving the SWAC football championship from Birmingham to Houston, the state of the league and what he thinks the next step for the SWAC is in this Q&A.

Obviously, the big news was you guys moving the (conference championship) football game to Houston. But my question is, 'Because you've got the Magic City Classic here, which is the biggest game in all of black college football, did it make sense to try to expand the brand elsewhere since you've already got that game that's such a huge draw (in Birmingham)?
