Southern Baseball, SU Army ROTC partner for Throwback Classic

BATON ROUGE, Louisiana -- Southern University has joined forces with the SU Army ROTC to present the Negro League Tradition series this weekend at Lee-Hines Field when the Jaguars host Grambling State in the regular season home finale.

The "Throwback Classic" features uniforms from the Negro Baseball League worn by both teams in a SWAC Western Division showdown between the two in-state rivals.

Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader is set for a noon first pitch and will air live on Downtown Radio 97.7 FM and GoJagsports.com.  Sunday series finale is set for a 1:07 first pitch and will air live on Cox Sports Television.
 
The SU Army ROTC will provide 200 camouflage SU rally towels to every fan who attends Sunday's game. Also, the first 30 children - ages 12 and under - will receive an SU ROTC squeeze baseball at each game.  
 
Southern is coming off a 13-2 loss on Wednesday to Nicholls State at Lee-Hines Field.
