After back-to-back wins, hope rising within Morgan State football

BALTIMORE, Maryland -- Morgan State is off to a 2-2 start and a 1-0 mark in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, which may not sound like much. But it’s a positive beginning when you consider how last season unfolded.

Last year’s squad opened 2013 with five consecutive losses, including a 27-21 setback to Norfolk State in the MEAC opener for both teams. This fall, the Bears absorbed identical three-point losses to Eastern Michigan and Holy Cross before beating Bowie State and conference rival Howard.

The back-to-back wins have invigorated the program under first-year head coach Lee Hull.

"There is a lot of confidence," Hull said this morning during his weekly conference call. "One thing I’ve tried to do is play a lot of guys and to give a lot of the players roles – even if it’s just five or 10 plays a game. They all feel part of this, and they all feel like part of the movement and where we’re going. So there’s a lot of confidence.
